Ahoy! How is everybody? In case you do not know, I’m back in Miri now hehehehe. Been back since Monday so this my *counts 1, 2, 3…* oh my 4th day in Miri already! Loving it so far – not having to worry about work at all! What a blessing!
I flew with RBA on Monday morning and while I was checking in at the counter, a lady offered me to fly 2 days later on Wednesday and that they’d let me fly with business class and compensate me with $150! I rejected her offer lah, ‘cos I know for sure my mum would be yelling at me over the phone for being so stupid. All because she wants to see me as soon as possible. Awww…… Oh, and the reason why they wanted me to fly 2 days later was because the flight was fully booked. After I got my boarding pass, I didn’t even notice that I was seated at the 2nd last row of the plane! Major T_T
But the flight itself was okay, in spite of a seriously-damn-full plane. Guess it’s always better to have a full plane during a daytime flight compared to a nighttime one. It just feels less creepy. I tend to link nighttime full planes to plane crashes more in my mind. Yikes!
SO. What have I been doing besides eating? Visiting my newborn baby cousin, aunts, uncles & grandma. Those baby Mary Janes fit! I was quite afraid that they’d be too small for her. Luckily they fit her tiny feet. We’re gonna have a big dinner at home tomorrow night, having all my mum’s relatives over to have an early birthday celebration for my brother. He has been trying to annoy me non-stop since I arrived. I have no idea WHY but I guess he just craves for my attention hence the annoying attitude. -_-
Okay, I have to go now. The brother is chanting for me to leave the room so he can use the computer. -_- Bai!
To my fellow heng dai ji mui-s,
I have an announcement to make. I am flying back to Miri in a couple of weeks’ time – on 28th Dec to be exactly, which is 2.5 months earlier than scheduled.
Change of plan because all the staff are forced to take compulsory leave for Christmas and so I was left with 2 options:
- Travel to Sydney with Kin for a Christmas holiday. But I checked the tickets and they cost like friggin’ 800 bucks for a return ticket! WTF.
OR - Fly home to Miri to enjoy good food, fight with my brother, go shopping with my sister and have my mum tuck me into bed and put me to sleep!
I was contemplating whether to stay or not at first, but as soon as Kin said 800 bucks just on tickets alone are way too expensive, I decided to go home. It’s true though. We’d need to worry about accommodation, meals & other incidental expenses as well. Ga ga mai mai would probably end up spending 2k per person! /gasps
Plus by going back home, I get to fully utilize my leave and not get into a negative leave situation again during Chinese New Year. It’s okay if I don’t get to spend CNY back home this year ‘cos at least Kin’s here with me. In the previous years, my CNYs in Perth were just dreadful! I’d dress myself up in red that day and play pc at home. By myself. How sad right?
Oh but I went visiting with my uncle’s family one year and got lots of angpaos HAHAHAHA.
If things go well, I might drop by KL on my way back to Perth as well, for a day or two. Haven’t been there for YEARS (except during flight transits -_-) so I thought it’d be nice to do some shopping during then. Can anyone please let me know if Carnival Sale is still going on by then? Thankssss in advance!
Much ♥,
Jess

Kin and I had a short day trip to Mandurah yesterday after church. It’s about an hour’s drive from Perth. The weather was perfect for an open-top ride so Kin drove his CRX.
Had late lunch at Cicerello’s with a spectacular view from the first floor. I don’t know if it’s because I was hungry or what but the food actually tasted better than Freo’s. Hmm.

It was so relaxing that afternoon. You can hire bikes or boats if you want to. I personally would love to hire a boat, sail it to the middle of the lake, have some champagne, have a good book, or just sunbathe with the music on. Someday.

I haven’t been in the sun for ages I thought it was finally time to get some. You see, I work from Monday to Friday. I wake up at 8:30 a.m., get to work at 9 a.m., finish at 5 p.m. and by that time, the sun is already gone (winter season). Thank God it’s spring now! That means I get to see more of the sun

Mandurah has sooooo many pretty houses I tell ya. But if I were given a choice to 1) buy a HUGE house in Mandurah at a cheaper price or 2) buy a standard house in Perth at a costly price
, I’d still choose 2) ‘cos Mandurah’s just too far away from the city. Imagine my family visiting the next time. I pick them up from the airport and I tell my mum, “Ma, let’s go to my awesome house! You guys would love it! /smirk” So they all get hyped and excited on the way home. But what they do not know is that it’s gonna be a 1.5 hours drive to get home wahahahaha. Eh shit, that means I have to drive to the airport 1.5 hours before they arrive. Wtf.

There was this new boardwalk thing on Boardwalk Avenue.

The view was beaaaautiful. So envious of all the house owners next to this beach!

Was dead tired by the end of the day lol. It was worth it though.
I have dozens of photos to show from my trip down south to Pemberton, WA. I just spent the past hour choosing, resizing, and uploading the photos I guess bedtime’s gonna be late again tonight
Anyhoo, my trip to Pemberton, yes. I wasn’t very excited about the trip at first because I only got back to Perth that morning and didn’t get to sleep till about 4 a.m. thanks to the flight delay!
Luckily I wasn’t asked to drive so I could at least catch some sleep in the car. But something unlucky had to happen to me that day. My water bottle in my bag was leaking and my cell phone was in there too T_T My poor phone died immediately after I discovered it. /sob
So I was thinking to myself, this is gonna be one of those real vacations where I won’t be able to get phone calls, emails, online messages and whatnot.

We stopped by Donnybrook for lunch – grabbed some pies from the Big Apple Bakery. Read the rest of this entry »
Hello!! Finally some time to continue my “Visiting Grandma” story-telling, hahaha.
So yeah, where was I again? Oh yes, seeing grandma on the first night I arrived. We only stayed for about half an hour then headed back home so I could unpack, shower, and take some rest.
My home still looks pretty much the same – but I see a new addition to the living room this time!

My grandma is the most humorous granny I’ve ever met/seen/talked to. We celebrated her 80th birthday with her 2 days before Chinese New Year this year. She was healthy, walking, and joking as usual.
When mum told me grandma got really sick about 3 weeks ago, I freaked out. Sounded like she ain’t gonna make it.
“Can you come back?” Mum asked.
Of course I would, if I could. So I asked my boss if I could take an emergency leave from work to visit my grandma, and thank God they were very understanding and let me go although I only have 1.85 hours of annual leave available at that time. 1.85 hours. How pathetic I know!
So I knew I was going home. I had to book my last-minute tickets asap, search for the cheapest flights and on top of that, study for my online quiz that weekend grrr…. I got so stressed out that day I ACTUALLY LOCKED MYSELF OUT!!! Omg. I was stepping out to grab my clothes to put them in the dryer but I was so smart to not bring my keys with me. Hi everyone!! I know my blog URL has changed numerous times before this and I know that it can get pretty annoying when I’m doing it so often, but this time, I actually PAID to get this modified template on WordPress so it’ll be a waste if I leave this site idle and continue updating on blogspot. So there you go, welcome to my new site!
And lucky you, I’m actually in the mood tonight to post a long, piccy-full update of Doris’ Twinny’s trip to Perth! Too bad the weather was so bad for the first couple of days. We basically had heavy rain for 3 or 4 days and only 1 sunny day!
The Food

Breakfast at Dome
Our first breakfast after picking up Doris from the airport. Everyone was very tired and sleepy. Fi and I were in our PJs so no photos hahahaha! Read the rest of this entry »
