30+3

Oh dear, have I just turned another year older again? 😅

Had a really simple celebration at home this year with my humble little family. ☺️ Mr S cooked dinner for us – his staple dish, chicken & mushroom risotto. It was so, so, so, so good.

We also had a birthday cake this year!!! And Mr S handmade the cute bunting cake topper for the cake 😍 It was a sponge cake with durian flesh & cream and it was simply delicious!

TADA!!!!!

With my babies

Felt so, so happy having the chance to hold each of my babies in my arms while Mr S and Naomi sang me the birthday song 😚

Most of all, I want to thank my mum, for giving birth to me this day, 30+3  years ago!!! The amount of pain she must have had to endure in order to give birth to me. And all the love, sweat and pain to raise me as a child to who I am today. All these, I will never, ever be able to repay her. Thank you, Ma!

Now, what wise words do I have for myself this year?

Live healthier.

I have recently developed this unhealthy craving for sugar ever since I started drinking sweet drinks during dinner. T_T I’d like to gradually get rid of this habit.

Also, I haven’t been exercising for way too long. I went back to badminton twice and would LOVE to be able to do this more often. I’m hoping the kids would be sleeping better at night so I could go back to my weekly or fortnightly badminton sessions.

I’d also like to cook more home-cooked meals ‘cos A) it saves money and B) it’s healthier!

Be more patient.

I feel guilty each time I lose my shit with the kids and with Mr S.

With Mr S, I used to hold grudges whenever we argued and sometimes I’d still be mad at him the very next day. But now that I’m no longer a silly, irrational young adult anymore, it’s time I grow up and finally learn to “forgive and forget”.

With the kids, needless to say, they’re just children. They’re still learning what’s right and what’s wrong. I, the adult here, should have MORE patience, so I can teach them about patience. It’s okay for them to make mistakes and rile me up (that’s what kids do to their parents anyway). So, I’d like to remind myself to be more patient and gentle with them.

Find time for myself.

It’s so important to get in touch with myself. Having stayed at home for the past 3 years plus (excluding the brief time I went back to work) because I was either busy being pregnant or breastfeeding or taking care of a toddler, I hardly have time for myself anymore. But I’d like to see a change in that now that Dylan’s gradually learning to become more independent.

I’ve started doing some gardening once again. YASSSS!!! I’ve neglected my plants for way too long and it’s time to pay them some much needed attention. I’d love to slowly put together pots and bowls of beautiful succulents bit by bit. And I want to get a calamansi lime tree for our backyard!

Declutter & organize.

I have to get on with my decluttering tasks. I need to find time to get rid of clothes I no longer wear or hardly wear by either donating them or binning the ones that are too worn out. I do this every now and then but haven’t done so in a while now.

I wanna start organizing things better too, be it in the bedroom, bathroom or kitchen. Our place is quite small so having things lying around really makes the place look cluttered and messy.

Less screen time on the phone.

Pretty self-explanatory ‘cos too much time on the phone takes me away from time spent with my family, myself, and actually getting things done.

Last but not least,

Sleep when I can.

My body and mind need rests. So I can function better when I’m awake and alert.

So off I go now.

Goodnight!

Time for my March update!! I turned another year older last week, hehehe. And I’m blessed enough to have my whole family celebrate my birthday with me this year! 😍

Since I don’t get to spend my birthday with my family very often, I decided to treat everyone to something good this year — the new and luxurious Epicurean premium buffet in Crown Perth. 🤤

Ate all the stuff I’m not supposed to! 🙄

With my little naughty!!!

Family portrait taken at our front lawn that morning. Matching twinsies outfit with Naomi!!! Too old to be wearing a tutu dress now to be honest so I’ve now given it to my sister, hahahaha!

My bump is also getting soooo big nowadays I already look like I’m about to pop!! 😵

Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Girl!

Our baby girl just turned ONE today!!! 🎈🎈🎉🎁🎁🎁🎀 I know that every parent says this and I can’t help but feel the same way too – time is zooming past way too fast and we can’t believe she’s one already!!

Honestly, the first few months were tough and painfully slow. And some days ARE still tough these days. But time seemed to pass faster and faster just before she turned one. She was reaching all sorts of milestones in the last two months or so. And it just feels like she has grown up a LOT over the past two weeks. *Sniffs* My baby is all grown up now!

We threw her a birthday party yesterday to celebrate with family members and friends here in Perth. I didn’t really have time to plan anything ‘cos she’s been fighting her naps lately and it drove me nuts almost every day. I seriously think that my level of patience is depleting day by day. 😑 Mr S and I were crazy busy the day before the party as I had to cook the whole day and he had to help me take care of her. We didn’t even manage to clean the house until the morning of the party itself ‘cos we were dead tired the day before. There was dog hair EVERYWHERE and toys scattered all over the floor, junk accumulated from weeks/months ago in the house. Ahhhhh…… it was just chaotic!

BUT, we managed to pull through and we’re quite proud of ourselves, lol!! 😌 *Pats selves on the back*

Happy birthday, baby girl! We love you soooo much, Naomi! Mummy and daddy wish you a very happy and blessed birthday. May you be blessed with good health and joy in life, and grow to be a kind-hearted girl who loves God very, very much! Remember always that mummy and daddy will love you ALWAYS, no matter what happens; and we’ll always, always have your back! 💞💝💖💘💓💗

Happy Birthday Mama!

Happy birthday to the person who brought me to this world – my mommy!!!

I know we always make fun of your timidness, but deep down, you are the bravest soul I’ve ever encountered. All because you raised the three of us on your own ever since baba fell sick, and then went to Heaven to meet our Creator. I know he was the source of your strength. Yet, in his absence, you did a splendid job in raising all three of us. Look at where we’re at now!

I wish you health, happiness and most importantly, peace at heart that only Jesus can give. Please know that we all love you so very much although we don’t say it often enough, hehehehe.

Happy birthday, mama! I love you!

Love from,

Li, Wing Kin, Nomi & Koko.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Last weekend, we celebrated Mr S’ birthday in advance with a couple of our close friends over dinner and strawberry picking the following morning. Had a really good time with our friends since it’s been a while since we had a get-together 🙂

Birthday Dinner

Fine dining in the comfort of my own home last night, lol!!! Mr S was the chef for the night and I’m so proud that he prepared everything from scratch!

Loved the atmosphere last night – we were tuning in to jazzy tunes during dinner and Naomi gave mummy and daddy a quiet time together, sleeping through our entire dinner time, hehehe.

A big thank you to everyone who sent me your warm greetings on my birthday! Love y’all! ❤

The Waiting Game Begins

Hello everybody! I have reached another milestone in my pregnancy journey today – I’m officially 37 weeks pregnant today! Which means, I’m now considered full-term and the baby could come anytime between now and the next couple of weeks! :O However, my OB reassured me today that the baby is likely to arrive in the next 2-3 weeks or so. Phewww…… Let’s just hope that BB will be patient enough to stay inside until popo and yiyi arrive next, next Saturday hahaha!! The doctor also said that the baby’s head has now descended down into my pelvis and that’s a good sign! That means that the baby’s currently in the right position and is ready for birth. How exciting is that!!

Having said that, I now have approximately three more weeks to go before the baby comes! My nesting instincts are kicking in and I’m really trying to get myself and the house ready for the baby’s arrival since I started my maternity leave this week. I’m finding myself scrubbing the floors in my bathroom while showering cos I felt that they were filthy. I can’t stand the gritty floors around the house as well and I find myself bending down and picking up grains of sand from the floor (doesn’t help that Australia is always so dusty and the fact that Koko brings in dirt and grit every time he steps out and comes back into the house). 😡

The good thing about my nesting instincts kicking in early is that I have most of the stuffs ready and prepared now, hehehe. The baby’s linen, manchester and cute, little, tiny clothes have all been washed and folded. Hospital bag is almost fully packed (just gotta throw in my toiletries and some snacks last minute). I got Mr S to install the car seat already and the cot’s been set up in our room 🙂 All we’re missing is little baby S in our arms! Hehehehe… ❤

Now, throwing back to two weeks ago, when Mr S turned 30!!!

Baby Shower

Fiona was so sweet to organize a surprise birthday party for Mr S on my behalf! But what I didn’t know was that it was also a surprise baby shower for us!! Awwwww…… ❤ It was a beautiful and memorable day spent with friends and family (my cousin was there too haha!). The food was delicious as usual as all my friends can cook so well hahahaha!!! 😎

Last but not least, not forgetting to mention that today is my lovely momma’s birthday!!! My one and only superwoman!! The one who’s been the best mum one could ever be for me. I have so much to learn from you and hopefully I will be as good a mother to my babies as you are to us! ❤ Happy birthday mummy!!! LOVE YOUUUU!!!

With Mommy

The Big Three-O

30Yours truly turns thirty today!!

Looking back at the last thirty years of my life, I am so happy and contented to be where I am right now; to be surrounded by people who love and care for me – near and far. I have a loving husband (so blessed to be married to my soul-mate) and family, a small but close circle of friends (it’s a shame we don’t all live in the same city though), a home to come home to, a secure job, and not forgetting, a pet dog who probably loves me more than he loves himself. I feel like God has given me so much when I haven’t done much to deserve all this. His grace is always overflowing and I cannot thank Him enough.

Therefore this year, I’d like to make some changes in my life, starting from baby steps. I’d like to contribute more towards others this year – making use of the skills I’ve acquired throughout the years and the talents I’ve been gifted with. The joy of giving is so much more than the joy of receiving!

I pray that now that I’m a year older, I will be wiser intellectually, richer spiritually, healthier physically, and calmer mentally. I pray that I will be kind and gentle – in my words, actions and thoughts. And I also pray that I will continue to be inquisitive in learning and exploring new things. Amen.

Happy birthday Jess!

Happy Birthday Mama Voon!

Mommy and I

Today is my supermom’s birthday! Happy birthday mommy!!! I wish you health and all the happiness in the world! Love you to the moon and back ❤

I miss you so much. See you soon 🙂

Fancy Mancy Birthday Bash for Mr S

Mr S is out playing badminton tonight so I have some quiet me time by myself at home tonight. It just so happens that today’s Thursday as well so why not do a #throwbackthursday post! Shall we?

We celebrated Mr S’s birthday two Saturdays ago. To make it an awesome, fun-filled one, we decided to make every one put on a costume for the party. Who doesn’t love a good costume party? Hehehehe…
