How I Spent My Birthday This Year

This year was one of my best birthdays ever, having celebrated it in Mandurah over the long weekend. Took a day off today so I could enjoy my 3 days 2 nights stay stress-free!

Thank you honey, for making all this possible. I enjoyed myself so very much and it couldn’t have been better, really =)

As usual, I took like a gazillion photos with FOUR cameras this time! Yes you heard read me! FOUR. A DSLR, a digicam, a polaroid, and a toy camera. Sometimes I really think I’m siao.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Had a fantabulous birthday this year!!! Will blog more about it soon…

Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes! You guys are awesome!

Now where’re my presents? Lol!

2 Years Later I’m At His Graduation Again

Oh hi everyone! As promised, I’m writing an entry on Wing Kin’s graduation ceremony that took place last Tuesday.

Two years ago, he came over to Perth to attend his graduation ceremony for his Degree. I sent the three of ’em (him, the brother, and Meng) to the Perth Convention Centre but didn’t get to attend the ceremony myself because we didn’t have an extra ticket *feels left out, just kidding, hehe. I had to pick them up again after the ceremony so I dressed myself up nicely just to take some photos with the fresh grad 😛 But guess what! He had already returned the regalia by the time I arrived to pick them up -_-

Two years later, I decided to wear the same BCBG dress (what!) to the ceremony. It’s because that dress is still the classiest in my wardrobe as of now. And this time, I’m not attending the ceremony as a friend, but as a girlfriend HAHA wtf like damn bangga 😆

Took a few obligatory camwhore shots in the car. It was quite embarrassing for me because his dad was sitting in front and he could tell I was taking vain shots of myself with all the flash & “chekeeeh!” going on at the back 😳

And thanks to me and my camwhoring ritual, the low battery indicator started blinking after taking 3 shots of Wing Kin. And I even forgot to bring the DSLR with me T_T

So sorry baby.

With Kang. Ahn young ha sae yo!!!

I think it’s the prettiest shot of us that night, hehe. Thanks Ben!

We headed to Burswood Casino after that to bring Kin’s dad around. While I was in the toilet, the two of them were trying out the “Beautify” function on his father’s camera.

Apparently the camera gives your photo an instant photoshop and transforms/beautifies your face hahahaha.

They made me do mine when I got out and guess what, it really works! Kin’s face looked so smooth in the “beautified” photo and his dad’s had a lot less wrinkles and freckles/moles HAHAHA. Guess girls would love to get that camera for you-know-what 😀

That’s all for tonight! Do be nice and congratulate him now LOL.

By the way, I received lots of ang pows when I went visiting with my uncle’s family yesterday!!! Quite beh paiseh lah ‘cos so big already still receive ang pow from people HAHAHA don’t care lah as long as I’m not married I’m entitled to receive them hmph! 😈

Happy CNY & Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sorry for the lack of updates – had been busy working and entertaining Wing Kin’s dad for the past week. Just sent them off at the airport tonight. Lucky them, they’ll be spending their CNY in Melbourne but I’ll be here all alone, all by myself. Sniff! It’s crazy how the apartment is so quiet and lonesome now that they’re gone. Awesome thing is I don’t have to sleep on the mattress on the floor tonight but have the whole bed to myself!

Promise to write an update soon on Wing Kin’s graduation. I have piccies to show 🙂 I shall just go to bed now and start on my very first Haruki Murakami!! Excited!!! Gonna have a loooong day tomorrow visiting my uncle’s family and aunt’s friends.

Oh by the way, I received my first ang pow already!! Wing Kin’s dad gave 1 to me before he left just then, hehehehehehe.

So here’s to a VERY HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR & VALENTINE’S DAY to everyone!!!! Muahs!

Australia Day 2010

So we and a couple of friends celebrated Australia Day together yesterday. It’s always awesome to wake up to a public holiday! I got to sleep in till 10:30 a.m. 😛

Woke up, did some cleaning around the house then prepared some sandwiches for the arvo picnic at Matilda Bay.

We parked at my boss’ house to avoid the post-skyworks show traffic jam. Had to do a little bit of walking though but it’s good to keep the spare tyre away 😉

Basically, we arrived early to grab a good spot (1. shade – check! 2. good view – check!), have a little picnic by ourselves – plenty of sandwiches, chips, bananas & juice.

We girls occupied ourselves with knitting & crocheting HAHAHA!! Yes, KNITTING & CROCHETING IN THE PUBLIC. Who knows someone gets interested in our work and wants to buy some on the spot right?!?!

The guys were mucking around and playing Vivien’s DS.

I have noooo idea how the time passed by so quickly after the first half an hour ‘cos before I know it, it was 30 minutes before the skyworks show already! Gee!

The show was pretty but not VEEERRY impressive for us because we only caught the side view of it and the fireworks seem a bit tiny because of the distance. 😦 The next time I’m celebrating Australia Day here again, I’d go to the foreshore. But that means getting there even EARLIER and traffic jam all the way back home. But maybe it’ll be worth the wait.

Alright, enough of the talking and enjoy the rest of the 2,192,437,568 photos!!!!!! You’ve been warned.

Christmas 2009

It’s Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! How did you guys celebrate your Christmas? My Christmas Day was spent at home having instant noodles for breakfast lunch & watching Christmas movies on the tele.

We then went to church for Christmas Day Mass and I was asked if I could do the 2nd reading for the day! o_O Thank God I didn’t fall down or misread and say something extremely dumb and make a total fool of myself! Phew~

Had a quiet little Christmas dinner at home with Wing Kin. I cooked lamb stew and prepared some salad. We both ended up really full!

After dinner, we headed to South Perth for some photos since we haven’t taken photos together for quite some time. We’re always busy with our own things nowadays. Anyway, the ‘photoshoot’ was short and fun – lasted for only about 15 minutes or so, lol.

We wanted to kiss under the mistletoe but there wasn’t any. Oh well.

He carried me by surprise in this photo, but had to hold still for 2.5 seconds for the shutter to click. When he put me down, he went, “You’re so heavy.” HAHAHA. I love my boy.

Our next plan was to head to San Churro for a lovely dessert together (sun bian pakto) ‘cos I heard that they’re on a ‘buy 1 get 1 free’ promo today. But guess what lah. After the long drive from South Perth to Freo, parking our car, walking there, we realized that they’re not open!!! Wtf kena cheated T_T

So yeah, I spent my Christmas in simplicity this year but I enjoyed it still 🙂

Let’s also not forget that today is the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus! Let’s say this little prayer for each other and our loved ones near & far.

We thank you Lord Jesus, for coming into our lives today, showering us with Your love & gifts. May the gifts that we receive, be shared with those we love and also those who are less fortunate than us. Amen.

Have a Blessed Christmas everyone!

Happy Winter Solstice

Decorated the living room with some Polaroids last night =)

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! I’m missing my mom’s tong yuen terribly now. I can almost smell it in my head but I can’t taste it 😦 I just called home and my sis picked up. She told me everyone’s gathering at our place today – tong yuen for lunch and a feast for dinner. I am so jealous! I’ve always loved family gatherings – all the eating, laughing & playing with kids. *Sniff*

It’s okay… I’m gonna stuff myself silly with tong yuen when I get home, hahahaha. I’m already prepared to put on 5kg for the trip this time.

My mum told me, “Come home and be a queen for a while. Sleep, eat, and just do nothing.” And that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what I’m gonna do.

Happy Mooncake Festival!

Happy Mooncake Festival / Mid-Autumn Festival everyone!!! I’m so happy today because after several years of mooncake- & tanglung-less Mooncake Festival in Perth for me, I finally got to eat mooncakes & play tanglung with someone this year!

Mooncake Festival

Was so thrilled when I saw these Made in China lanterns for sale in Kong’s Oriental Store today!! They look EXACTLY the same like the ones I used to play when I was a little kid. Awww……

Mooncakes are crazy expensive here. $9.50 for 1 but I got it anyway since today’s a special occasion and I wouldn’t wanna miss it for the world.

We actually wanted to carry the lanterns with Meng at his place tonight but since he had dinner plans with his aunts, we decided not to.
